OUTREACH

IGEM

Dr.Reisch is currently a mentor of the iGEM team of the University of Florida. iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) is a synthetic biology based competition consisting of hundreds of teams of undergraduate university students from around the world. Teams design and implement an original system that addresses issues currently facing the world using various molecular biology techniques.

ASM GATORS

The American Society of Microbiology (ASM)  University of Florida Student chapter (ASM Gators) is an undergraduate organization whose mission is to first help students who are interested in microbiology to stay informed, find internships and scholarships. and provide ways in which they might advance their careers in microbiology. Their second mission is to foster microbiology and science interest in the general public through outreach programs. The Reisch lab and its members work closely with the ASM Gators to create outreach workshops, lessons, and to go and present this material to the public.
